Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is known to have a heart of gold. He is known for his generosity, helping the poor and underprivileged. He even takes care of his bodyguards: he once organised a shopping trip for them.
No wonder his clothing line is called Being Human.
However, the dashing actor who had made millions at the box-office, once owed a rupee and twenty-five paise to a cycle mechanic. He made this confession during a chat show with comedian Kapil Sharma, where he shared a funny anecdote from his childhood days.
On Umang: A Mumbai Police Welfare Fund's Initiative event, Khan revealed to comedian Kapil Sharma about how he owed Rs1.25 to a mechanic.
And Khan got to know about his loan when he paid a visit to the same mechanic to get his cycle's tyre fixed recently.
" I was wearing shorts and had no money on me. So, I told Kaka to repair it and that I would pay him later. That's when he told me that 'Tu bachpan mein bhi aisa hi karta tha. Tune ek baar bahut pehle cycle theek karaya tha aur aaj tak uske paise nahin diye. Tera aaj bhi Rs1.25 udhaar hai (You used to do this also during childhood. Long ago I repaired a cycle you brought to me but you still owe me the money for it: one rupee and twenty-five paise).' I felt so embarrassed," Khan said.
The "Dabangg" star also mentioned that later when he returned him his money, the mechanic refused to take it.
Khan even narrated a story when he used to drive a scooter filled with half kerosene and half petrol to save money.
Salman shared a video of streams of fans who gathered outside his house to greet the superstar Eid Mubarak.
In the video, the monkey was seen refusing the bottle. Salman offered the monkey water in a glass, which the primate quickly grabbed.
