Mubadala Capital has recently integrated a $25 billion credit portfolio from Mubadala Investment Company into its global platform. This development is accompanied by a $4.65 billion investment aimed at expanding its private credit business, thereby enhancing the UAE-based company's footprint in the global credit and alternative investment sectors.
For the first time since the platform's launch in 2009, this integration will offer external investors access to the portfolio, marking a significant expansion of Mubadala Capital's business model and its capacity to draw new capital into its private credit investments.
As one of the largest alternative asset managers in the Middle East, Mubadala Capital boasts a diverse investment portfolio in the US market, covering sectors such as technology, financial services, media, infrastructure, and consumer products. The company also maintains offices in New York and San Francisco.
The consolidation of the portfolio is especially notable due to Mubadala Capital's expanding influence within the UAE’s substantial $1.4 trillion US investment portfolio. This portfolio emphasizes the allocation of long-term capital in the US economy's high-growth sectors.
This strategic move coincides with Mubadala Capital bolstering its involvement in prominent US investments. Recently, the company took part in a $16 billion funding round for Waymo and co-led a $1.375 billion Series E funding round for a US data center operator.
Additionally, Mubadala Capital has stakes in key US companies and organizations such as Fortress Investment Group, Imagine Entertainment, Wattaberger, and Waterbridge.
