The total amount of money returned to victims reached Dhs1.19 billion between 2021 and 2025, the General Secretariat of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting the Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation Financing Committee, revealed.
This came as a tangible result that reflected the effectiveness of national efforts in protecting the rights of victims and turning legal and institutional procedures into a direct effect that ensured the return of funds to their rightful owners, it said.
The committee explained that these were tangible financial results and that the value of the recovered funds reflected concrete financial achievements made possible by national efforts.
The process of moving from procedures to results highlighted the importance of translating legal and institutional measures into direct outcomes that served the interest of victims, it said.
Protecting victims’ rights underscored the UAE’s commitment to safeguarding victims’ rights and ensuring the return of funds to their rightful owners, it added.
