From Feb.3 to Feb.5, 2026, the World Governments Summit will convene in Dubai, bringing together heads of state, ministers, and policy leaders at a critical moment for the world’s economy and climate.
Among those attending is Ambassador Theon Ali, Deputy Head of Mission of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Arab Emirates, who arrives with a clear agenda focused on investment, infrastructure, and climate resilience.
The 2026 edition of the Summit has been positioned as its largest to date, bringing together more than 150 international delegations alongside global institutions and private-sector leaders.
Ambassador Ali will be joined by senior government and climate offcials from Antigua and Barbuda, reinforcing a unified national approach to facilities development, energy security, and sustainable investment frameworks for Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
Ambassador Ali’s participation centers on accelerating foreign investment flows and advancing climate resiliency for Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean. His focus aligns directly with converting high-level dialogue into bankable projects, as supported by formed partnerships at the Summit.
For Ambassador Ali, the Summit provides direct access to decision-makers, aligning capital structures, and fast-tracking cross-border collaboration. His engagements are aimed at shortening the distance between policy discussion and execution, particularly in areas tied to climate adaptation, renewable energy, and regional economic resilience.
Following the Summit, these dialogues are expected to translate into strategic alliances and concrete investment pathways, positioning Antigua and Barbuda as a climate-ready and energy-secure Caribbean hub. With timelines established and stakeholder alignment underway, Ambassador Ali’s next phase focuses on shifting all of his plans into actual rollout, ensuring that commitments made result in tangible achievements that are beneficial to Antigua and Barbuda and the neighboring small island nations.
