He gave away 65 per cent of his earnings to charity
Ratan Tata, the veteran industrialist and former Chairman of Tata Group, a $100 billion conglomerate, died at a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday night at the age of 86. He transformed the Tata Group, which employs more than 350,000 people worldwide with a presence in over 100 countries, into a sprawling international enterprise, with a portfolio ranging from software to sports cars.
