Abu Dhabi Government’s participation at Gitex Global 2023 has revealed several projects and initiatives that use advanced technology to provide and deliver digital solutions.

On the fourth day of the event, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) has implemented the T-Sat methodical training system, which unifies professional forms linked to the four stages of the original system approved by the armed forces. The forms use data pulled from various sources to appear in approved reports.

The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) launched Insights and Foresights Platform (2.0), providing decision-makers with dependable analytics.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched AI tool ChamberGPT, which uses natural language processing (NLP) technology to help members communicate with the Chamber platform in a more natural and intuitive way.

In addition, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT - Abu Dhabi) has showcased a further number of ongoing innovations at the event, which include the Fair Game App, developed by Abu Dhabi Art, which provides a unique gaming experience for art enthusiasts; the Candidacy Electronic System for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, which aims to create a sustainable platform for the literary award; and the Virtual Tour in Qasr Al Watan Library, which provides visitors with a 360-degree viewing experience.

The continued demonstration of technological advances by Abu Dhabi Government entities throughout GITEX Global 2023 contributes towards supporting digital transformation within the emirate, promoting transparency and further enhancing access to government services.

The Department of Government Enablement (DGE) has unveiled a unified digital services platform, further advancing Abu Dhabi’s goal of creating an agile and efficient government.

This strategic move follows the Executive Committee’s decision, prompting DGE to introduce a robust, integrated, service-driven digital platform for Abu Dhabi government entities.

The unified digital platform fosters collaboration among government entities through shared tools and elevates the user experience in various areas such as finance, human resources, procurement, IT and project management, among others.

Moreover, the platform strengthens security and data privacy and supports data-driven decision-making by utilising advanced analytics and standardised processes. It also enables a more agile response to emerging trends and needs while promoting sustainability by reducing duplication.

The common digital platform was launched on the first day of Gitex Global 2023, the world’s largest tech and start-up exhibition. Dubai Internet City, the region’s leading technology hub and part of TECOM Group PJSC, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), backed by the Government of the Republic of Korea, to foster innovation and entrepreneurship efforts that bolster the growth of the global technology sector.

A high-level Korean delegation toured the vibrant technology district on the side lines of the MoU signing. Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President - Commercial at TECOM Group, signed the memorandum on behalf of Dubai Internet City with Sung-Wook Hur, President of NIPA.

The UAE and Korea are key trading partners with bilateral non-oil trade totalling $3 billion during the first half of 2023. The UAE is Korea’s second-largest Arab trade partner and recently concluded talks with Korea for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) deal.

In January 2023, the UAE also announced plans to invest $30 billion in various South Korean sectors and industries to expand economic cooperation over the next few years.

Under the terms of the MoU, NIPA will provide industry data and insights that enhance collaboration and facilitate the participation of Korean technology companies and professionals in Dubai Internet City’s ecosystem.Commenting on the partnership on behalf of Dubai Internet City, Ammar Al Malik said: “We are delighted to embark on this strategic memorandum with NIPA that marks a significant step towards fostering innovation, supporting entrepreneurship, and strengthening the global technology landscape.
