Sharjah Chamber boosts trade, investment ties with Pakistan

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has discussed ways to upgrade trade and investment cooperation with Pakistan and how to further develop priority economic sectors and open up new horizons for partnerships between the Sharjah and Pakistan business communities.

The discussions were held during a meeting held at the SCCI’s headquarters between Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and a Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi.  Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; Fatima Khalifa Al Muqrab, Head of International Cooperation Department, SCCI; as well as Pakistani diplomats and businesspeople from both sides, attended the meeting.

Al Owais welcomed the visiting delegation and wished the new Pakistani ambassador success in his duties and endeavors to strengthen the two countries’ collaboration.

He stressed that the UAE-Pakistani bilateral relations are getting stronger and deeper thanks to the keenness of the two nations’ leaderships to foster their relations and cooperation on all levels. He stated that such meetings would certainly encourage both sides to develop action plans and explore prospects for strengthening economic relations between Sharjah and Pakistan.

For his part, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi lauded Sharjah’s leading position in the fields of business and sustainable development, thanking the chamber for its efforts to serve the business community and reinforce collaboration with the Pakistani business community. The ambassador also invited the chamber to participate in the International Trade Show in Pakistan, which is scheduled to take place in February 2023.

The Pakistani delegation also toured the permanent exhibition at the SCCI, where they spoke highly of its role in promoting local products. As they concluded the meeting, the two sides exchanged commemorative trophies.

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais has received recently a high-level business delegation from Uzbekistan’s Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation was led by Vakhabov Davron, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Held at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s headquarters, the meeting was attended by Waleed Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Humaid Mohamed Ben Salem, Secretary General of the FCCI, Mohammad Amin Al Awadi, SCCI’s Director-General, and Abdulaziz Mohammed Shattaf, Assistant Director-General of the Communication and Business Sector at the Sharjah Chamber.
