Economic relations between Abu Dhabi and Barbados are getting a boost as Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrui, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received Gabriel Abed, the First Ambassador of Barbados to the UAE, and the accompanying delegation in the Chamber’s tower in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to organise business meeting between Abu Dhabi Chamber and Barbados Chamber in an attempt to push trade cooperation between businesses forward.

Al Mazrui commended the visit of Abed to the Abu Dhabi Chamber, which is a testimony to Barbados’ true desire to boost its investment and trade cooperation with Abu Dhabi, pointing to the need to improve the economic relations between the two countries.

He pointed out that Abu Dhabi enjoys competitive features making it a preferred destination for startups, noting that the Emirate has a flexible and encouraging legislative system backed by an advanced infrastructure and strategic geographical location. He also highlighted the role of the Abu Dhabi Chamber in supporting foreign businesses desirous of investing in the Emirate by providing them with the facilities and services to make their businesses a success.

For his part, Ambassador Abed called on businesses in Abu Dhabi to visit Barbados considering it a preferred touristic destination in the Caribbean and the most developed island in the region.

He added that Barbados possesses huge capabilities in several key sectors including advanced technology, expressing his government’s desire to establish long-term strategic relations with Abu Dhabi through the Abu Dhabi Chamber.

He also pointed to his country’s readiness to provide all the necessary support and facilities to Emirati businesses to expand their operations to Barbados.

Separately, Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrui and Ambassador Madiar Menilikov of Kazakhstan to the UAE, have recently discussed the latest developments in economic cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan.

Held at the Chamber’s tower in Abu Dhabi, the meeting highlighted the development in cooperation ties between the two sides over the recent years.

Al Mazrui emphasised the interest of Emirati companies operating in Abu Dhabi to increase their presence in Kazakhstan markets, noting that the Abu Dhabi Chamber is exerting huge efforts to boost trade relations and increase the communication between Abu Dhabi businesses and their counterparts around the globe.

“The Abu Dhabi Chamber supports businesses by creating an encouraging business environment turning Abu Dhabi into a competitive investment destination for foreign businesses and a gateway for Asian and African markets thanks to its strategic geographical locations,” he added.

The Chairman expressed the Chamber’s readiness to offer its support to Kazakhstani businesses by providing them with all information about the available investment projects and the future plans of Abu Dhabi, especially in the sectors envisioned by Abu Dhabi Economic Vision.

Ambassador Menilikov called on Emirati investors in Abu Dhabi to benefit from the available investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, especially in the agricultural, infrastructure, manufacturing, property, tourism, and transportation sectors.

He shed light on the UAE-Kazakhstan solid ties and his government’s interest in levelling up trade cooperation to the highest levels. He assured his country’s commitment to supporting foreign investors by providing them with the incentives they need to invest in critical developmental sectors.

 Abdullah Mohammed Al Mazrui also discussed recently to with Fatmir Bytyqi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, the means of boosting economic cooperation between businesses in Abu Dhabi and North Macedonia.

During the meeting, which was held on the sideline of their participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, both sides emphasised on the necessity to increase communication channels between Abu Dhabi Chamber members and their counterparts in Macedonia.

Attended by Abdulkadar Memedi, Ambassador of North Macedonia to the UAE, and Naser Nuredini, Minister of Environment and Physical Planning of North Macedonia, the meeting discussed the possibility of organising an Emirati-Macedonian business forum in the near future to promote the available investment opportunities in North Macedonia.

Al Mazrui welcomed the Macedonian delegation, praising the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries. He pointed to the many available joint investment opportunities which would maximise trade exchange in diverse sectors, especially food security and level up trade relations between the two countries to new heights.
