Tarek Zaki demonstrates the company’s latest concept rollable smartphone - the OPPO X 2021 during an Iftar event in Dubai.

Mobile companies around the world are bringing new features to their products by installing new technologies to meet the rising demand of user-friendly gadgets.

OPPO, one of the leading brands in world’s smartphone industry, is investing heavily on research and development to introduce new technologies to its products, said Tarek Zaki, Senior Product Manager at OPPO MEA.

Tarek Zaki demonstrated the company’s latest concept rollable smartphone - the OPPO X 2021 during an Iftar event in Dubai.

The rollable concept handset was presented in Dubai for the first time to the Middle East and African market after its debut unveiling in China last November.

The prototype smartphone is currently not available in the market for commercial purposes.

During his presentation of OPPO X 2021, Zaki said, “ OPPO is looking to the future and working on various innovative projects. OPPO X 2021 expandable concept smartphone is one of them.The new concept product is the latest breakthrough from OPPO’s constant exploration into infinite-swimming-pool smartphone display.”

Powered by OPPO proprietary innovative technology, the device features a scroll-like, expandable display that removes the ‘hard folding’ typically associated with foldable smartphones.

OPPO X 2021 is built with a continuously variable OLED display that measures as small as 6.7 inches and as large as 7.4 inches. The display can switch between these configurations by unrolling and retracting like a scroll.

The screen is guaranteed to last for over 100,000 retractions and extensions without resulting in any creases. The screen can be set to different sizes by swiping up and down on the side button.

Expanding the screen is easy with just a single touch of the power button.

Two Spot TOF 3D cameras help achieve superior bokeh on photo and video images while supporting basic coverage of AR indoors. In the future, these will enable the phone to be used for combined AR/VR features.

The side button is not only used to lock and unlock the device, but also to extend and retract the rollable display.

The rollable screen is infinitely adjustable between its minimum and maximum sizes, opening up more possibilities for productivity, entertainment and daily use.

With the larger screen size user will be able to capture large size photo and watch video on bigger screen.

When using social media apps, the Parallel Spaces Mode on the OPPO X 2021 automatically displays messages and your content feed over dual displays, making for a very convenient experience.
