Ajman, UAQ chambers join hands to strengthen ties, exchange expertise

The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) on Wednesday received a delegation from Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to promote the cooperation and share expertise, in addition to briefing on the most important services and best practices directed to the business community.

The delegation was received by Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber, and Salem Al Suwaidi, the Director General. While, the delegation was led by Khalfan Bin Misfer, Deputy Chairman of Umm Al Quwain Chamber, and Abdullah Khamis Al Suwaidi, the Director General.

During the meeting, Al Muwaiji stressed keenness of Ajman Chamber to strengthen its direct communication with the UAE chambers, which is positively reflected on the private institutions and growth of the economic sector in general.

He praised the efforts of the chambers of commerce in the country and their role in providing the private sector with leading services that enhance its development and sustainability. He further hailed the wise leadership’s keenness to create an attractive and supportive environment for the private sector through harnessing powers of all concerned government departments to provide tools and services that keep pace with the aspirations of investors and traders.

Al Muwaiji also stressed the importance of exchanging visits between chambers of commerce to enhance cooperation, exchange technical expertise, explore best practices and discuss the possibility of holding joint events that contribute to direct communication between businessmen and traders.

During the meeting, the delegation was briefed about the services provided by the Ajman Chamber for its members and employees, as well as the role of field visits and working groups in strengthening linkage between the Chamber and its members. Those visits help identify the most important proposals and challenges faced by members and ways to solve them to ensure the sustainability and growth of the economic sector in the emirate. This is besides the Chamber Ajman’s efforts to strengthen its ties with all local and federal entities associated with private sector institutions, since the Chamber represents the direct link between traders and businessmen on the one hand and government departments on the other.

The members’ directory of excellence provided by the Ajman Chamber to its members was also introduced, as well as the services offered by the Ajman Businesswomen Council, Ajman Center for Conciliation and Arbitration and Ajman Center for Corporate Social Responsibility.

They were also briefed on the growth indicators of the tourism industry and the education sector, in addition to highlighting the opportunities available in the Ajman Free Zone and the Ajman Free Media City.

Moreover, the attendees stressed the need to link youth and entrepreneurs with the plans of chambers of commerce and industry and the importance of launching effective initiatives stimulating entrepreneurs by providing support and appropriate guidance in cooperation with the concerned authorities.

As the visit continuing, the delegation was briefed on the entrepreneurs building at the Ajman Chamber and its role in providing marketing solutions for entrepreneurs. They were also briefed about the business incubator located in the Ajman Chamber, which provides office solutions for entrepreneurs and provides a stimulating environment for their business and the development of their enterprises.

They also saw the electronic device that automatically issues certificates of origin. The device enables customers to receive their certificates at any time in a step that facilitates the completion of their transactions with great flexibility and hassle-free prosedures.

Attendees were also introduced to the “Rofoof” initiative offered by the Ajman Businesswomen Council. It provides sales outlets aimed at encouraging members of the Council and promoting their products, thus increasing opportunities for product evaluation, development and transformation into an existing business.

On his part, Khalfan bin Misfer, Deputy Chairman of Umm Al Quwain Chamber, stressed the importance of these visits to exchange experiences and learn about the best services and practices offered to traders and businessmen, praising the efforts of Ajman Chamber in providing innovative initiatives and services that contribute to the development and sustainability of companies and factories operating in Ajman.

Among the attendees were Khawla Khalfan, Executive Director of the Support Services Division, Abdullah Omar Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of Membership and Legal Services, and Nasser Al Dhafri, Executive Director of the Communications and Support Division.

At the end of the meeting, Abdullah Al Muwaiji and Khalfan Misfer exchanged commemorative shields.
