Abu Dhabi: OKX , a world leading crypto exchange and Web3 technology company and the Official Sleeve Partner of Manchester City Football Club, proudly presented the Manchester City Treble Trophy tour from Oct.5-8 in Abu Dhabi, which saw football fans attend to catch a glimpse of football’s most coveted -- and rare -- club trophies.
The Premier League, FA Cup and for the first time, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup, were on display at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Park as fans of all ages and nationalities from across the UAE celebrated the club’s recent success, getting their pictures taken with the silverware and meeting club legend Joleon Lescott.
Throughout the event, there was a wide range of fun activities for citizens to enjoy in a packed schedule which also included signed merchandise giveaways, freestyler performances, and appearances from the club mascots Moonchester and Moonbeam.
During the four-day visit from Oct.5-8, the UAE’s stars of tomorrow also had a once-in-a-lifetime chance of getting up close to the silverware with all four trophies making a stop at City Football Schools’ sessions at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City and Dubai’s Kent College.
The event attracted football fans, influencers, media and featured an exhibition of Manchester City’s trophies, appearances by the Club legend Joleon Lescott, and a free public match screening of the side’s match against Arsenal on Sunday.
OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique said: “We’re very proud of the incredible performance Manchester City men’s team turned in last season, bringing home the Treble with the OKX name on their training kits.
“This season, we’ve expanded the partnership to become Official Sleeve Partner and are cheering the team on to more victories. The Treble Trophy Tour in Abu Dhabi was an amazing way to present these trophies to fans young and old, and is a testament to our keen interest in introducing ourselves to people in the Gulf and around the world.”
In June, OKX announced that it was named Manchester City’s Official Sleeve Partner, an expansion of the partnership, which began in March 2022.
The treble trophies have crossed the globe over the past few months, appearing in Jakarta, India, Japan and Korea. In September, OKX presented the iconic Premier League and English Cup trophies in Hong Kong.
City were defeated by Arsenal in their last match. Arsenal ended their eight-year wait for a Premier League win over Manchester City as Gabriel Martinelli’s late strike sealed a dramatic 1-0 victory before the champions lost their cool in an ugly spat following Sunday’s damaging loss.
After 12 successive league defeats at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s men, the Gunners enjoyed a moment of sweet redemption at the Emirates Stadium.
With just four minutes left, Martinelli’s shot took a hefty deflection off City defender Nathan Ake, sparking wild celebrations as Arsenal clinched a top-flight success against the treble winners for the first time since December 2015.
Tempers flared after the final whistle as City stars Erling Haaland and Kyle Walker argued with members of Arsenal’s backroom and security staff as they walked towards the tunnel.
There appeared to be pushing between Haaland and Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, but Guardiola said: “I know what happened and I don’t want to say anything”, while Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta refused to shed light on the incident.
