Hitchcock thriller

It was really an Alfred Hitchcock suspense thriller at the women’s semi-final clash between Jasmine Paolini vs unseeded Donna Vekic.

Like some of the T-20 matches, which are decided in the last ball of the 20th over, this match too proved to be a thriller till the last serve.

Hats off to the young Paolini, who bounced back after losing the first set to make a spirited come back to win in three sets. It was anybody’s game till the last service.

With this win, Paolini has reached the finals of the second consecutive Grand Slam final since Serena Williams in 2016. This win would be a booster for her to cross the final hurdle to lift her first Grand Slam trophy.

We wish her the best in the finals. Incidentally the men’s semi-final line up is very interesting. Who knows, it could be a repeat of the 2023 finals between Djokovic vs Alcaraz.
