Great opportunity

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 has already started in America. I am looking forward to my team, Pakistan, to do well. I have great expectations from my team this year. I hope Pakistani captain Babar Azam would guide his team for a better result. People have high hopes from Babar. I feel he has picked up a perfect team, which has Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammed Amir, Naseem Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed. 

Fakhar is in good form, while we all are waiting to see how Azam and Saim play in this tournament. Both the players have got the opportunity to play for their country. So the onus is on them to deliver. It is good to see Aamir and Imad in the team. Hope they justify their presence. I feel Pakistan have a very balanced side this time and they can do well in this tournament, though they lost the T20 series against England on Friday.

Pakistani players looked a little unprepared for the series. I hope they return in good form. I don’t know why players are not able to perform of late, despite having so much talent. I hope new head coach Gary Kirsten will come out with a good plan and he can motivate the team. Kirsten is indeed a great guy, with lots of experience. I am sure he will turn the tables during the T20 World Cup.
