Climate thieves

It is good to read that the young climate activists haven’t given up their fight. The incumbent world leaders would have conveniently pushed aside climate change matters with the excuse of dealing with the pandemic (“Young climate activists vow to #FightEveryCrisis in global online strike amid coronavirus pandemic,” April 25, Gulf Today).

However, the issue doesn’t cease to exist. It is more urgent than ever to tackle the consequences of climate change. Because while the world deals with the pandemic, the temps in the poles are showing an unprecedented rise and a hole is getting larger in the ozone layer above the Arctic.

Surely , all the countries can devote personnel to be completely devoted to climate change issues irrespective of the pandemic.

It only shows that the imbecile leaders are not concerned about the same because it would also mean a hit to profits or capitalism. And therefore, it is sadly up to the younger generation to forgo their one day of school to protest the destruction of their future. It only goes to show that the human race has not only stolen from other species on the planet but is also apt at stealing from the younger generation of their own species as well.

Surely such rot is beyond redemption.
