Amid the ongoing pandemic it’s great to see the authorities strictly implement the do and don’ts laid for the safety of the citizens and residents in the country. I was stopped on two occasions by the police early morning whilst I was driving to drop my wife to work. They didn’t ask me for a permit but wanted to know where I was going. If I was back In India I may have been kicked left, right and centre.
On another occasion while I was heading back home after my work, I was stopped by the police when I was asked to show the permit. I have noticed that when we receive an SMS confirming that the permit is approved it does not state the location and the time period.
This is the first time that we are faced by a crisis with the roads completely empty, the metro system at a halt, worship centres closed, restaurants and coffee shops closed, so much so that we can’t even dine with friends and families. The drive for me is as if I am always driving at night with no cars behind or in front.
I just wish to suggest that the sterilisation procedure being carried out should be mandated even in building corridors, offices, elevators and not just the roads. All said and done it’s a lesson for all of us to keep ourselves clean and hygienic without giving the sickness a chance to spread from one place to another. Praying that things get back to normal as Ramadan is just around the corner. Stay home and stay safe.
