Two relief planes arrived at Beirut airport as part of the "UAE Stands with Lebanon" campaign. The aircraft were carrying a gift from Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
The aircraft transported approximately 80 tonness of materials and supplies intended to provide assistance to Lebanese mothers, particularly in light of the prevailing critical circumstances.
The (UAE) persists in its prompt humanitarian response with the objective of providing aid for the Lebanese people, in accordance with the community campaign entitled "UAE Stands with Lebanon."
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations Affairs and member of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, emphasised the commitment of Sheikh Fatima to providing aid for Lebanese mothers and ensuring their basic needs are met in various circumstances and contexts, particularly during the ongoing emergency situation and challenging humanitarian circumstances.
This aligns with the humanitarian principles and solid fraternal values established by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which are exemplified by the swift response, provision of aid, and support for the needy and afflicted in various countries across the globe, irrespective of origin, colour, religion, nationality, or race, he added.
Furthermore, he stated that Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak's gift bore a humanitarian message and a valuable fraternal phrase from her, which read: "To the mothers of Lebanon, our hearts are with you in all circumstances and times. The UAE has been and continues to be a steadfast ally of Lebanon. We hope for Lebanon's stability and security always and forever."
This message authentically reflects the genuine sentiments of the Emirati community, its leadership, and its government, as well as the admirable aspirations of providing aid to those in need and supporting those affected by the challenging circumstances currently faced by the region, Al Shamsi said.
Furthermore, he stated that the ongoing Emirati relief operations and assistance to the Lebanese people will continue with the objective of facilitating an expeditious recovery and addressing the current challenges.
