Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Air Wing Section rescued three Europeans who were stuck in a rugged mountainous area in the emirate without sustaining any injuries.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Abdullah Ali Al Shehhi, Head of Air Wing Section at Ras Al Khaimah Police, the section received a report from the Operations Room stating that three people were stranded at an altitude of 4,000 feet in a mountainous area in Ras Al Khaimah.
A helicopter of the section rushed to the site and airlifted the stranded Europeans to the section headquarters before handing them over to the competent authorities, he said.
Al Shehhi stressed the necessity for mountain hikers to take all preventive measures and abide by the guidelines aimed at ensuring their safety and keeping them away from rugged places that might pose a threat to their lives.
