A first date can be a very happy experience for both the boy and girl. It thrills the duo endlessly, who keep talking about it to either their loved ones, or to a very close friend who can keep secrets. The duo put on their Sunday best to impress each other at the eagerly-anticipated rendezvous. But some first dates can go horribly wrong. One woman was left high and dry after she had to fork out a massive 1,600 dollars to pay the bill. This was when her date had his dinner and just dumped her in a restaurant, after going out on the pretext of answering a phone call.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by her fiancée, American TV personality Nick Viall, Natalie Joy was asked about her worst first date.
She then spoke about the date she was very hesitant to go on, but it ended up in a dine-and-ditch affair, according to the Independent.
The guy pleaded with her for a date at least 20 times before she finally gave in.
When they arrived at the restaurant for the date, Joy recalled that her date was very keen to try out the menu, and they each tried “one of every appetiser” and an entrée dish.
Then he said it was time for dessert. She said she was full, but he insisted so they had that too. And then this happened.
“…He gets a f****ing phone call and he does not come back for 20 minutes. And I’m like, ‘I wonder what the phone call’s about.’ so I get up and go outside and he’s gone. She was saddled with a huge bill to pay: $1,600.
Ever since that horrible experience, there has been no contact between the two, either in person or over the phone. What’s more, the creep blocked her on every social media.
One Instagram user dubbed it as the “worst date ever”.
“Omg he made you pay for a $1,600 meal?!!!! And left you! So sorry that takes the cake of worst dates ever,” wrote one follower.
Viall is best known for appearing on reality American TV shows The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor.
