Taxi driver arrested for trying to molest two girls in Sharjah

The Sharjah Police have arrested an Asian taxi driver who tried to molest two girls while they were returning home in the evening, taking advantage of their being alone in the taxi.

The details of the incident date back to an earlier time, when a report was received by the Buhaira Comprehensive Police Station, from an Arab father stating that while his 13-year-old daughter was returning home by taxi with her 15-year-old friend, and the driver harassed them.

Instantly, the police found the vehicle and the driver, who was arrested in record time.

On being interrogated, he confessed to his crime.

Investigations have shown that the parents of the two victims were aware that their daughters travelling on their own, without being accompanied by an adult which made them vulnerable.

The Sharjah Police appealed to parents to take responsibility for protecting their children and maintaining their security and safety.
