5-year-old Emirati girl drowned in swimming pool in Al Dhaid

A five-year-old Emirati girl known as, Amna Jaber, drowned in one of the swimming pools of a private farm in Al Dhaid in Sharjah, on Saturday evening, according to Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police.

Al Zari added that the victim was accompanied by her family, but she went to a swimming pool in the farm alone, and because she was not good at swimming, she could not survive and drowned while she was out of the sight of her family.

Major General Al Zari explained that Amna was instantly taken by a private vehicle to Al Dhaid Hospital in Sharjah, but she died before her arrival, according to the medical team at the hospital, who affirmed that the death took place at the scene of the accident.

Al Zari expressed the sincere condolences of the Sharjah Police to the family of the deceased, and the police’s sorrow over the painful accident, stressing the importance of parents assuming their responsibilities towards their children, and ensuring all means of prevention and safety.

The painful accident went viral on social media platforms in the UAE, causing excruciating pain to the social media audience, and tweeters tweeted about the tragedy on Twitter, attaching pictures of the deceased Amna.
