Court rejects investor's plea seeking Dhs85,000 from his employee in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Cases rejected a lawsuit filed by the owner of an investment company in which he demanded that an employee who worked for him pay Dhs85,000.

The complainant claimed  that he had handed the appelleeDhs85,000 for registering lawsuits and fees, while the latter seized it for himself.

According to the case papers, the complainant also demanded that the appellee pay legal interest of 12% from the date of the claim until full payment, in addition to the fees and expenses of the lawsuit.

The complainant said that the appellee worked for him, adding that he gave him a power of attorney authenticated by the notary, and the money as fees for registration of claims, but he did not pay the fees and seized the amounts for himself.

The court assigned an accounting expert to settle accounts between the parties of the case, and asked the complainant to pay his fees, but he did not do that within the deadline granted to him, and also did not attend the adjourned session to do that.

The court indicated that the case papers were void of evidence that the appellee took those amounts for himself, and then dismissed the case and obligated the appellant to pay the fees and expenses.
