A tragic video clip of a Syrian father throwing the body of his child into the sea after his death due to starvation has come to the media light showing the plight of refugees who take the risk of crossing the Mediterranean sea to reach Europe.

The refugees were on one of the illegal immigration boats heading to Italy.

The clip showed a heartbreaking scene, where the father shrouded his child in his clothes, and threw him into the sea, while dozens of illegal immigrants, including children, were on the boat reciting verses from the Holy Quran.

Media reports indicated that the boat that witnessed this tragic accident was also revealed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, which announced the death of 6 Syrian migrants due to starvation and thirst while trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea.

The UNHCR stated that there were more than 30 people on board the boat. Noting that a large number of survivors are in a very serious health condition.

On the other hand, Lebanon has started implementing its plan to return 15,000 Syrian refugees monthly to their homeland, local media reported.

The buses sent by the Syrian government, according to Lebanese state media, will transport Syrian refugees wishing to return home.
