Bahrain, Oman, Egypt and Brazil declare three days of mourning over passing of Sheikh Khalifa

Bahrain, Oman, Egypt and Brazil declared on Friday a period of three days of mourning over the passing of late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain has mourned Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, who passed away on Friday.

In a statement issued by the Royal Court and carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the King of Bahrain expressed his heartfelt condolences to the UAE leadership and people on this sad news, and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in Paradise.

The Royal Court announced that Bahrain will observe a three-day mourning with flags to be flown at half-mast.

Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq Al Said of Oman has also mourned Sheikh Khalifa. In a statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court of Oman and carried by the Oman News Agency (ONA), the Sultan of Oman expressed his heartfelt condolences to the UAE leadership and people on this sad news, and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant him peace in Paradise.

The Diwan of Royal Court of Oman announced that the Sultanate will observe a three-day mourning with flags to be flown at half-mast across public and private sector entities, from Friday to Sunday.

Earlier on Friday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi mourned the death of the UAE President, saying he "sincerely loved Egypt and was a loyal friend in all circumstances."

President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro announced an official mourning throughout Brazil, for a period of three days, starting from Friday, after the passing of Sheikh Khalifa.

"An official state of mourning is declared throughout the country, for a period of three days, starting from the date of the publication of this decree, as a sign of grief over the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, late President of the United Arab Emirates," said a decree issued by the Brazilian president.
