Abu Dhabi relaxes PCR test rule for school students

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) affirmed that under-16 students of private schools and partnership schools must submit a negative PCR test result every 28 days instead of 14.

The ADEK clarified that students over 16 must maintain a negative PCR test result valid for 14 days in order to use the school bus or enter school, pointing out that students over 16 who are not vaccinated or exempted must present a negative PCR test result valid for 7 days.

The schools indicated in their messages to students over 16 that they must show the green pass in Al Hosn app when entering schools and when using the school bus.

Schools also pointed out that a PCR test is periodically provided to students inside schools by a licensed staff of the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, and that parents can select the type of PCR test for students under 12, whether through a nasal swab or a saliva test. This can be done by filling in the data of their consent form to conduct the test on children inside schools.
