VIDEO: Spark-flying speeding vehicle sideswipes over a dozen cars in Honolulu

A reckless motorist driving at a very high speed wreaked havoc in the streets of Honolulu.

The accident happened around 12:15am in Honolulu.

Residents at Honolulu's Waikiki neighborhood said a loud car crash and alarms woke them up.

A video shared on social media showed a speeding white sedan sideswiping several cars, sending sparks flying before finally coming to a stop with police chasing it.

Local media reported that the police immediately apprehended the suspected.

Media reported that that the driver, who seemed inebriated, was yelling.

He was taken into custody.

A Honolulu resident said on Twitter, “17 cars in Honolulu were damaged by a speeding car. Driver may have been drunk.”

The incident took place on Ala Wai Boulevard.

The authorities have urged motorists to abide by the traffic laws and not to indulge in speeding and stunts in public places.
