Authorities seize huge cache of neswar

The inspectors of the Operations Department of the municipality of Al Dhaid city raided a factory manufacturing prohibited neswar, and a warehouse containing raw materials for the manufacture of neswar, in a farm in the Saih Al Muhab area, during inspection campaigns organised to monitor violations and distortions of the general appearance.

The teams burnt the seized amounts of neswar, amounting to 143 tonnes, and the workers of the factory were referred to the concerned authorities.

Ali Musabbah Al Tunaiji, director of the municipality, affirmed that the inspection campaigns organised by the municipality are continuing periodically to monitor any violating activities, seize everyone practising them and take the necessary measures according to the list of violations and penalties.

Al Tunaiji added, “The inspection teams monitored a truck containing a container which headed frequently to a farm on Al Dhaid Road towards Fujairah.”

“After monitoring the site periodically and after confirming there were violations, a permit was obtained from the prosecution. Therefore, the inspection teams, in cooperation with the police, raided the site and arrested the workers involved,” Al Tunaiji added.
