Maid robs gold, cash worth over Dhs182,000 from employer’s house in Dubai

A 26-year-old Asian maid was arrested and referred to criminal court for stealing gold items and cash worth over Dhs182,000 from her employer’s house.

Official records indicate that the employer after noticing the theft on regular basis decided to keep a watch on her two maids to find out the thief.

She laid a trap to find out the culprit.

She kept Dhs4,000 in her purse and marked the money and then hid it inside her closet.

When the money disappeared, she called her two maids and confronted them, but both denied committing the robbery.

However, after a while, the defendant herself confessed and admitted that she stole money and gold items multiple times.

The amount of cash she stole during a long period of time was estimated to be around Dhs82,000, besides stealing 2 gold necklaces, 4 gold bracelets and 2 anklets worth Dhs100,000.

The maid was arrested and charged with robbery.
