Sultan orders expulsion of bachelors from Al Qadisiyah area after a complaint

His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the Sharjah Municipality to evacuate all workers and violators from Al Qadisiyah area, in cooperation with the Sharjah Police, starting from Sunday.

This came as a response to a complaint filed through the "Direct Line" programme broadcast by Sharjah TV and Radio about a large number of workers and bachelors living in Al Qadisiyah area, which causes disturbance to the families in the area.

Thabit Al Tarifi, Director General of the Sharjah Municipality, confirmed the full readiness to implement the directives of His Highness, Ruler of Sharjah, noting that they have already started from Sunday within a work plan in coordination with the departments concerned.

One caller from that area said, during a telephone conversation, “There are a large number of workers living in the neighbourhood in the Qadisiyah area, which is designated for families, however workers spread among the buildings and dwellings, in a way that poses a threat to the families residing in there."

She added, “There are people who unlawfully rent to bachelors and workers, behind the knowledge of the municipality in Qadisiyah and in other areas as well.”

Earlier, Sheikh Sultan directed the establishment of the Cloud Rest on the Khorfakkan’s mountains at an altitude of 580 metres above sea level. Through the rest that has been scheduled to be opened next October, it will be possible to see the city of Khorfakkan in all directions.

This was announced on Monday during the “Direct Line” programme broadcast on Sharjah TV and Radio.

It is noteworthy that there are several projects completed recently and others being carried out in the city of Khorfakkan. Among those completed projects are Lulayyah Park on an area of 1,200 square metres, at a total cost of Dhs1.3 million.
