VIDEO: UAE experiences heavy rain in the valleys

A number of areas in the country on Thursday witnessed light to heavy rain, accompanied by active winds with a speed of 45 km/h, shifting dust and dirt, which affected the horizontal visibility.

This was due to an extension of low-pressure lies over the eastern areas, accompanied with an extension of an upper air high pressure from the west.

The rain began on Thawban and Al Haniyah in Fujairah, Raq-Suhaila, Khudaira, Al Batayh and Nizwi in Sharjah, Manama in Ajman, and Al Ghail and Azen in Ras Al Khaimah.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has expected that weather on Friday and Saturday will be fair in general and partly cloudy by afternoon eastward.

Temperatures tend to increase slightly over internal areas. It will be humid by night on Friday and Saturday morning with a chance of fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal especially westward.

The winds will be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times, with a speed of 18–28, reaching 38km/hr. The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

 It also said, “The weather on Sunday and Monday will be fair to partly cloudy at times. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times, with a speed of 18–30, reaching 38km/hr. The sea will be slight o moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.”
