VIDEO: Missing 62-year-old Emirati rescued from Abu Dhabi desert

The National Search and Rescue Centre, in co-ordination with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, on Monday carried out a search and rescue mission for a 62-year-old Emirati missing in Al Faya Desert of Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Police’s operations room received a report on an Emirati in his sixties missing in Al Faya Desert of Abu Dhabi and suffering from chronic diseases and heart problems.

Using a search and rescue plane, the operation room’s team assigned to look for the missing Emirati was able to find him after his car had been stuck in the desert.

The missing Emirati was evacuated to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City for the necessary medical treatment after all the precautionary and preventive measures related to Covid-19 had been observed.

In June, the NSRC in coordination with the General Command of Sharjah Police carried out a rescue and medical evacuation mission of a 45-year-old Australian citizen following her desert bike accident in the Al-Bedayer area of Sharjah.
