Sand storm and heavy to moderate rain were reported from parts of the UAE on Monday

Manama, Al Dhaid areas in Sharjah and Dafta in Fujairah experienced heavy rainfall on Monday, whereas Al Hiyar, Al Shuwaib and Al faqa areas in Al Ain received moderate rainfall.

Light rain was also reported over Athan area of Ras Al Khaimah.

A heavy sand storm engulfed parts of Sharjah on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) has called on road users and motorists to exercise caution and abide by the traffic instructions, due to an opportunity of cumulus clouds formation, accompanied by rain and active to strong winds at times.

“The wind speed has reached 50 km/h, which led to blowing dust that affected the horizontal visibility, particularly in some eastern and northern parts. This may continue until 6:00 pm today,” the NCM said.
