Help identify this man, say police

Dubai Police are calling on the public to co-operate with them in identifying an unknown Asian who was taken to Rashid Hospital in Dubai after feeling faint, noting that he has no identification papers and no one has asked for him or reported him missing.

Those who identify the man are required to call the nearest police station, Dubai Police call centre on 901 or Al Rifa’a police station on 04-3937777.

Recently, two Dubai cops managed to recover a stolen car in less than an hour. The Command and Control Centre at Dubai Police had received a report about a stolen Toyota in the jurisdiction area of Al Qusais Police Station when the vehicle owner had left the car engine running while dropping his son to school.

An All-Points Bulletin on the car was put out immediately, and within an hour, the stolen car was seized by the police station’s patrol.

Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-In-Chief of Dubai Police, presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to First Corporal Khalid Ibrahim Al Mazmi and policeman Abduallrahem Husein for their efforts and dedication in their work. For their part, Al Mazmi and Husein expressed their sincere thanks for the Dubai Police leadership, emphasising that this is a badge of honour on their chests and an incentive for them to provide more efforts.

General HQ of Dubai Police has been organising awareness-raising campaigns to warn drivers against the dangers of leaving vehicles unattended with the engine running in front shopping malls or houses as this makes them an easy target for thieves.

In August some 425,371 drivers benefitted from the “Traffic Fines Settlement” initiative launched on Feb.7, 2019, by the Dubai Police General HQ, for not breaking traffic laws, receiving discounts of up to 50 per cent on their fines.

Dubai Police said the discount is being offered to reduce the financial burden on motorists and also encourage them to adhere to traffic regulations.

The initiative offers discounts of up to 100 percent, provided the affected driver does not commit any traffic violations for a whole year, Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operation at Dubai Police, revealed, adding that promoting a culture of traffic safety in the community will help achieve the strategic goals of the country’s traffic and patrol departments to reduce traffic accidents and resulting deaths.
