Use quality electrical materials to prevent fire breakouts, building owners told

Building owners in Abu Dhabi have been urged to fulfil all the fire prevention requirements on their properties.

According to Civil Defence Department in Abu Dhabi it is mandatory to used quality electrical materials for power supply to heavy household equipment such as refrigerators, suction fans and air conditioners.

 Based on the goals of 'Summer Safely' campaign, it is important to pay attention to the requirements in order to promote safety during the summer.

Brigadier General Mohammed Mayouf Al Ketbi, Director General of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, called on families going for vacation outside the country to disconnect all electrical appliances and gas cylinders sealed off from direct sunlight.

He called on home onwers and resturants to make sure that safety requirements of the cooking stove are checked.

Periodic maintenance of appliances should be carried out without fail.
