Goldie Hawn celebrates daughter Kate Hudson's 45th birthday

Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actress Goldie Hawn recently celebrated her daughter Kate Hudson’s 45th birthday and shared some sweet memories.

The 'Private Benjamin' actress took to Instagram to share a sweet throwback image alongside Hudson, reports 'People' magazine.

In the photo, the mother and daughter are seen embracing, clad in matching white tank tops and blue jeans.

"Happy birthday, my darling daughter @katehudson," Hawn, 78, wrote in the caption.

"Among all the things you have already accomplished in your life – amazing mother, great dancer, Academy Award-nominated actress, and now a fantastic singer – let us not forget you were the fastest runner in high school and all of Los Angeles."

"So keep on running sweetheart. You’re a racehorse. I love you," Hawn concluded.

Hudson expressed her gratitude to her mom in the comment section, saying, "Haha! Mama you're the best! Being fast is still my favourite accomplishment. Catch me if you can!! Love you so much."

As per 'People', in addition to the fun tribute from her mom, Hudson received numerous birthday wishes via Instagram, including messages from Reese Witherspoon, Ike Barinholtz, and Sara Foster.

Hawn shares daughter Kate and son Oliver with her second ex-husband, Bill Hudson. She and her longtime partner Kurt Russell are also parents to Wyatt Russell.

Hudson has three children; she welcomed her first child, Ryder, with her ex-husband Chris Robinson in 2004.

A report published earlier this year says Kate Hudson feels it is “hard” to convince male movie stars to make romantic comedies. The 44-year-old actress said that having a good leading man is a vital aspect of the genre but lamented the lack of appeal the films hold to men. “It’s hard to get male movie stars to make rom-coms. That’s also a big part of the equation, to have that event.

As long as we can get more Marvel guys to like, you know, ‘Hey, come to a rom-com!’ I think that’s a big part of the formula too,” Hudson said on an episode of ‘The View’, reports aceshowbiz.com. When quizzed on the genre’s lack of appeal to male stars by presenter Sara Haines, the star explained that good writing is the key to attracting top talent to feature in the films.

Hudson said: “I think it’s about the writing, and how we’re investing in telling the story of the writing and the directors. If you look at the classic rom-coms or movies that last forever — ‘cause they do, they’re the ones that last forever; people go back and back — they had the best writers. So it’s more about how the studios are investing in the talents.”

Hudson has starred in a string of romantic comedies including “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” and “You, Me and Dupree” and thinks that the former, in which she featured opposite Matthew McConaughey, is enduringly popular because of the high-quality script.

She said: “Honestly, I think it was well-written. I think there’s this sort of misconception that a rom-com is supposed to have a certain formula — which it does, there is a formula that works — but it does also start with the writing. We went through multiple writers on that. We really made sure we had a great foundation of a script. And then the cast.”

Meanwhile, Kate was pictured dancing with her fiance Danny Fujikawa and fashion designer friend Stella McCartney as they attended Bruce Springsteen’s set at British Summertime recently.

The “Almost Famous” actress, 44, watched the rocker’s “tear-jerking” three hour set from the VIP area in London’s Hyde Park with Stella, 51, and other stars. Joining them was Stella’s husband Alasdhair Willis and singer Jon Bon Jovi, 61, as they sang-along to Bruce Springsteen’s impressive 29-song set, Daily Mail reported.

Kate appeared to be having the time of her life as she flashed a huge smile while Stella threw her arms in the air. She pulled her blonde hair back into a high bun and wore a patterned linen shirt to the event. Stella looked chic in a blue jumpsuit with cropped sleeves and her hair styled straight.

The 73-year-old rock legend’s energetic three-hour set has been lauded by fans and critics as an “unrelenting rock spectacular” after he took to the stage for the final weekend of the festival. He kicked off his set alongside his famous E Street Band with an energetic rendition of “No Surrender,” before moving onto “Ghosts,” “Prove It All Night” and “Letter To You.”
