Man arrested for storing 48 tonnes of narcotics substances in a warehouse in Abu Dhabi

The Federal Public Prosecution initiated the investigation into a case in which an Asian charged with possessing an amount of narcotics and psychotropic substances on purpose of peddling.

The security teams at the Anti-Narcotic Department at the Abu Dhabi Police were able, through continuous and intensive follow-up to monitor and control criminal gangs that peddle narcotics and psychotropic substances, to arrest the accused, who had prepared and equipped a warehouse for storing narcotics and psychotropic substances.

According to the Prosecution, the accused smuggled an amount of narcotics and psychotropic substances weighing 48 tons and 693 kilograms into the country through hiding them sophistically in a shipment to mislead the authorities. The narcotics was prepared for trafficking and promotion within the country, the Prosecution added.
