Over 1 million students return to school in UAE on Monday

The UAE’s public and private schools following the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Kindergartens will start  schooling the day after tomorrow (Monday, Jan.2, 2023).

Schools will receive more than one million students, as well as teaching, technical and administrative staff, marking the start of the second term of the current academic year 2022-2023, following the end of winter holidays and New Year's Eve celebrations.

The exam results of the first term for the current academic year are scheduled to be announced in stages, according to a time sequence for each seminar, during the period Jan.9-13. Details of the results schedule will also be announced later.

According to the academic calendar for the current academic year 2022-2023, the school days of the second term will be 91 days, with 67 days for actual study, and 24 days as weekly holidays (Saturday and Sunday). The spring holiday for students will start on March 27, 2023 (Monday) until April 14, 2023 (Friday), while the holiday for the educational and administrative staff will start on April 3, 2023 (Monday) until April 14, 2023 (Friday).

The attendance of students and the educational and administrative staff in public and private schools that follow the ministerial curriculum, for the third semester, will start on April 17, 2023 (Monday), and the study is expected to end on July 14, 2023 (Wednesday). 

According to the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE), the education process will be in-person in schools for all categories of students at various stages, while distance learning will be applied in emergency and for students and staff infected with COVID-19.

ESE stated that it provides all school curricula electronically on the Ministry's platform, and printed textbooks will be distributed during the first week of the second term, in addition to providing reserve computers to all 564 schools for use in emergency cases.

The administrations of public and private schools have announced their readiness to receive students and other staffs in attendance, in the various emirates of the country, for the start of the second term 2022-2023.
