Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, received the document of association from International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.
The document of affiliation was given during a meeting held on Monday with the representative of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness at the headquarters of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation in Dubai.
Present during the meeting were Karim Al Andari, President of the Lebanese Arms Wrestling Federation, members of Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Ahmed Jawhar, Faisal Al Zaabi and technical secretary Abdul Majeed Qassem Yazbek, and the delegation accompanying the guests.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation seeks to organise events to support the sport of arm wrestling, which is considered as one of the popular sports.
He thanked the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness for their efforts to develop the game.
Andari stressed that the distinctive development and professionalism enjoyed by the Emirati sport encouraged his federation to expand the base of joint cooperation with the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation to further support the development of arm wrestling.
He also discussed plans to organise an arm wrestling league in the UAE, which could be the first to be held in the Middle East region at the beginning of next year. He thanked the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation for the grand welcome.
Faisal Al Ghais Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Physical Strength Committee at the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, said: “The proposed arms wrestling league is an important event because it will focus strongly on spreading the game in the country.”
