Jotun Paints beat Ocean Fair International by six wickets in the final of the 8th Anchor Marine Cup at the Ocean Fair Sports Club grounds in DIP. The tournament was organised by Ocean Fair Sports Club, and prizes were donated by Shahveer Sidhwa of Anchor Marine.

Batting first after calling the coin correctly, Ocean Fair International suffered early jolts as they lost their openers cheaply.

Except Adil Hussin (19) and Rehman Gull (13) none of the Ocean Fair International batsmen reached the double figure. Their innings were finally folded at 83 in 18 overs.

Vishnu Ramesh took 3 for 17, while Parveen A Ranjit Mani and Robendar Thakkar claimed two each.

In reply, riding high on Hari Prasanth’s unbeaten 30 and Ranjit Mani’s 28, Jotun Paints chased down the target in 13.3 overs.

They scored 84 for the loss of four wickets. Veteran player of UAE and Ocean Fair International’s legendary bowler Freddy Sidhwa took three wickets. Hari Prasanth of Jotun Paints was declared as man of the match.

Meanwhile, seven-a-side cricket festival will be held on Dec.2 to mark the UAE National Day.

The cricket festival will help unite expats from various backgrounds and nationalities to celebrate the 48th National day of their adopted home.

The event will take place on the Ocean Fair Sports Cub ground DIP. The cricket extravaganza is organised by Ocean Fair Sports Club.

Tournament is a brainchild of senior UAE umpire Tariq Butt, who has organising this festive event for the past 30 years in the region.

Eight teams will participate in the tournament. All prizes will be donated by Deepak Arora of City Diamond LLC and is also supported by legend cricketer of UAE Freddy Sidhwa.
