The research shows that birdsong or rather, nature itself is good for general wellbeing. The article says so. Nature itself could be a panacea for some issues, such as mental problems (“During pandemic, a little bit of birdsong helps,” Dec. 31, Gulf Today).
And yet , despite knowing the life and death changes that being in nature can bring about, the corrupt world leaders prefer to be blind to the environmental destruction.
The Amazon burns and Bolsonaro is turning a blind eye. The same is the case in both India and China. They are heavily investing in the destruction of nature.
And the world looks on, believing it is the respective country’s internal issue. They do not understand that the world is connected and that a flutter of a butterfly’s wings a 1000 miles away will cause a tsunami elsewhere.
And so, such articles don’t have much significance unless there are policies to preserve nature.
