Air pollution affects hair and scalp

Air pollution

The story about air pollution is new in the sense of only talking about the effects of pollution on hair and scalp. But is that really new? Pollution is pollution. It has a bad effect on everything — external and internal body parts (“Air pollution causes hair loss”, Oct.29, Gulf Today).

But I do hope that at least for the sake of their hair, people take greater care of reducing pollution. Looks and physical appearances mean a lot to everyone. Thus, when hair is threatened, people might take greater notice of polluted air. The fact that it does so much harm to the lungs is not taken as seriously as it should have, because people can’t see lungs. But hair, that’s a matter of great concern.

However speaking on general terms, not much is being done about pollution. And the hybrid and electric cars are bought and accepted at a sluggish rate. Instead of fighting wars, governments can use the same for green development — bicycles and bicycle paths. Good public transport. Trees along the pavement. But of course wars are more interesting and therefore your hairline will suffer.
