Man finds hidden treasure in grandparents’ home about to be put up for sale

An American man found, by chance, a large amount of valuable antiques, silver bars, coins and pistols, which his grandparents had hidden in the house while he was cleaning the house in preparation for its sale.

The man from Tennessee who goes the name “EvilEnglish” on Reddit, said while posting on the Internet that his grandparents lived in the property for 20 years, and after his grandfather's death in 1998, his grandmother left the house, never returned and his father inherited the property. He was assigned the task of preparing it for sale.

According to the post, the house was in a state of neglect, having been left empty for two decades, but something special was hidden among the cobwebs.

While cleaning the house, the user discovered a cupboard under the stairs, and inside was an old carpet, and when he removed it, he was surprised by the presence of a secret safe.

He spent few days trying to break its lock, and he was unable to do so, so he hired a locksmith who spent 30 minutes until he was able to open the safe.

The safe had a number of pieces Antiques, such as rare coins, silver bullion and other valuable treasures that his ancestors had hidden.

The box had some water damage while hidden in the cupboard due to leaky pipes, but the valuables inside were intact.

An exact evaluation has yet to be made, but the collectibles are estimated to be worth tens of thousands of dollars.
