Egypt's forces rescue family held hostage by an armed thug after a shootout

The Egyptian National Security forces succeeded in rescuing a family that was held hostage and tortured by a thug in Fayoum Governorate, south of Cairo.

The forces stormed Al Baltaji's house after blowing up the fortified doors, before the bully tried to torture the family.

The thug was shot dead by the forces during the exchange of fire.

According to Egyptian media reports the thug killed his mother-in-law and then dumped her body in the backyard of the house and tortured family members.

The reports confirmed that the Egyptian security forces negotiated with the perpetrator before the storming in order to save the lives of the hostages.

An automatic weapon, a rifle and a number of bullets were found in the possession of the accused.
