Britain eases travel restrictions, cuts 47 countries from COVID-19 travel 'red list'

The United Kingdom has moved 47 countries from the 54-strong list to the "rest of the world" (ROW) list.
The move comes into effect from Monday, October 11 at 4 am. The countries included Mexico, Georgia and all of Africa, the UK Department of Transportation announced.
The authorities said that fully vaccinated people from above countries will soon be able to swerve quarantine and are only required to take a day-two PCR test after arrival at any UK ports and airports.
Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Venezuela are the only countries that will remain on the red list.
The government rationalises the traffic light system into two classifications: the red list and the rest of the world list (ROW).
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps also announced that the UK government would recognize vaccines from 37 new countries from next Monday, which means fully vaccinated people from countries such as South Africa and Hong Kong will be treated the same as fully vaccinated UK citizens upon arrival.
Arrivals from Red List countries still have to pay 10 days of hotel quarantine.
