UAE sees 991 new COVID-19 cases, administers 65,999 doses of vaccine

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) conducted 306,873 additional COVID-19 tests and detected 991 new coronavirus cases.

The new cases bring the total number of infections in the UAE to 713,402.

According to a Ministry’s statement all the infected individuals belong to various nationalities and are in a stable condition after receiving the necessary care.

All the new tests were conducted using latest medical testing equipment.

Total number of deaths in the country rose to 2,031 after ministry reported 3 new deaths on Thursday.

“An additional 1,576 patients fully recovered from COVID-19, which brings the total number of recoveries to 697,419,” said Ministry’s statement.

The Ministry also announced that 65,999 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the past 24 hours.

The total number of doses provided up to Thursday stands at 17,925,065 with a rate of vaccine distribution of 181.24 doses per 100 people.

Expressing its sincere condolences to the victims' families, the ministry urged all members of the society to cooperate with health authorities and adhere to all the precautionary measure.
