60-year-old injured in hit-and-run accident, Ajman police nab culprit in an hour

An Arab driver, who ran over a 60-year-old GCC national and fled from the scene, was arrested by Ajman Police within an hour.
Major Issa Mohammad Al Shamsi, Head of the Investigation and Traffic Control Department at Ajman Police General Command, said the operations room received a report alerting a run over incident on Al Corniche street in Al Nakheel area 2.
Police patrols rushed to the scene to find that the victim was run over when he tried to cross the street.
He was transferred by national ambulance to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital.
Shamsi added that an eyewitness who was behind the fleeing vehicle wrote down the plate number of it.
Investigation teams arrested the driver, an Arab, 18, in Al Nuaimiya area, and referred him to the competent authority.
