UAE residents urged to take COVID-19 booster vaccine dose after 6 months of the second dose

The UAE Health Ministry urged everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine booster doses 6 months after the second dose.

The health officials said, “We would also like to announce the policy of booster doses, where they can be given to all vaccinated individuals with both doses after 6 months of taking the second dose, and they can be given 3 months after the date of the second dose to high-risk individuals.”

The authorities said, “Vaccines contribute to preventing infection and complications of disease, admission to hospitals, reducing hospital stays, and not needing respirators compared to the unvaccinated group.

Dr Noura Al Ghaithi, Acting Executive Director of External Therapeutic Services, “Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state has adhered to the principle of health as a priority, the state has strengthened the health sector with qualified medical cadres and established specialized hospitals in record time, to adopt the latest health practices with high efficiency.”

The authorities said that we stress the need to adhere to health protocols related to infection and to communicate with health authorities as soon as possible to ensure access to treatment, which results in accelerating the pace of recovery, as early therapeutic intervention is one of the most important factors in treating the disease and preventing any complications.
