A man in Lebanon from Al Ghosn family shot another man identified as AS in a wedding party in Beirut, using a handgun.

The incident, which was on the background of a revenge case, is feared to turn into a tribal war, according to Lebanese media.

Videos posted on social media documented the moment when the killer from Arab Khulda tribe approached the victim during the wedding ceremony and opened fire him in front of panicked attendees.

After the victim died, the Lebanese army moved in an attempt to bring everything under control for fear the incident might turn into a tribal war.

The Arab Khulda tribe, to which the perpetrator belonged, quickly issued a statement in which they said, “As an Arab tribe in Lebanon, it is the customs and traditions of Arabs to take revenge if there is no reconciliation between the disputants.

What happened today when AS was killed was nothing but taking revenge and the killer is the brother of HG, who was killed earlier.”

“Therefore, we hope that the family of the murdered person will consider the killing as an eye for an eye, and nothing more,” it added.

Lebanese news agencies confirmed that the killing was on the background of the killing by AS of a 14-year-old boy last year.
