The UAE has witnessed a decrease in the number of cases during Eid Al Adha holidays, official said during weekly briefing on COVID-19 situation in the country on Tuesday.

“It confirms the success of the UAE’s strategy to deal with the crisis, where measures are taken based on the developments, reflecting the high flexibility and adaptation which is required due to the nature of the pandemic,” official said.

The decrease in the number of cases reflects a gradual return to a new normal life, with a wider return of economic and tourism activity, and return of employees to their work, which aligns with the concept of adapting with the virus, which would enable humanity to achieve recovery.

Official also said that 77.91% of the total population received the first dose, and 69.35% received the two doses.

Authorities called on members of society, who did not take the vaccine, to take the vaccine to protect themselves and their community.

Official thanked first line of defence in all sectors for their efforts in all fields to ensure the health and safety of the community during the crisis.

“Maintaining these achievements is responsibility of all of us as the journey of recovery and return to a new normal requires all of us to continue this commitment, and to embrace positivity and high flexibility,” official said.
