The UAE Embassy in Pakistan has clarified that the COVID-19 vaccination certificate is not considered currently a requirement for travel to the UAE.

This came in response to a news circulating on some media that Pakistani passengers travelling to the UAE now have to carry coronavirus certificates attested by the UAE embassy and foreign ministry.

A circular claimed that he new rule will be applicable from Aug.1, 2021.

According to the circular, the UAE embassy in Islamabad has asked Pakistan’s foreign ministry to inform authorities concerned and diplomatic/official and ordinary passport holders about the new travel update.

The circular stated that "it is mandatory to carry UAE Embassy attested Vaccine certificates for COVID-19 issued by the National Database & Registration Authority along with Counselor Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad attestation before travelling to the UAE.”

In a recent statement, the UAE airlines Emirates and Etihad have stated that flights from Pakistan are suspended until July 21. However, the UAE nationals, Golden Visa holders and diplomats are exempted from these rules.

The suspension of flights from different countries is part of the UAE’s strict measures to stop spread of the coronavirus.
