A 29-year-old Asian was arrested and referred to Criminal Court, along other runaway accomplices, after attacking two men in Dubai Industrial Area and mugging them of Dhs700.

The incident occurred during last May, when the two victims were heading towards a near hypermarket and were crossed by the defendant and his gang.

Without a notice, the gang surrounded the victims to initiate their attack. They retrained the two of them and threw them to the floor, before stealing a wallet from one of the victims.

They began running and scattering around the area to distract the victims.

The police were alerted about the robbery, and a patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene.

The officers were told that the gang was 20 metres away from the crime scene.

They head to the mentioned location and managed to catch the defendant while other fled away.

The hunt is still going for the runaway accomplices.
